Advanced Course Scholars Theme
• Magnet theme begins college-preparation at the 6th grade level to prepare students for the future.
• Students in this program are exposed to challenging coursework and experiences that relate to real world scenarios.
• Students prepare for the rigors of advanced course work in later grades, and learn organizational skills and strategies that will serve them throughout life.
• Includes first-hand college visits, AND a selection of guest speakers from across the country chosen to inspire and inform.
• This focus works hand-in-hand with the AVID program that is offered for 7th and 8th graders at Dowdell, and enables students to take several high-school credit earning courses.
