Dowdell also offers an applied Animal Sciences program, expandng on the strong Agriscience program already in place.
It includes an Animal Sciences Academy for 6th grade students, offering a chance to experience what animal sciences is all about.
The program expands as students move towards 8th grade, when interested students take a year long animal sciences course for high school credit that is recognized as an intro to Vet Tech medicine at the high school level.
This is a new but growing theme here at Dowdell Middle Magnet School.
